What was the meeting about?

The meeting was part of the Neighborhood Land Use process. BSD works with the city of Beaverton to achieve the community’s planning and environmental goals.

Where is the district in the process?

BSD is currently in the site and building design phase. At the meeting, community members had a chance to see renderings and floor plans and ask questions about the project.

How has BSD worked with the community for this project?

There have been several District Advisory Committee workshops and multiple outreach meetings, both virtual and in-person. The District has sent surveys to community members through ParentSquare and hosted a teacher and staff open house. The design team has also spent time shadowing Raleigh Hills teachers for a better understanding of how staff and students use their current space.

How is the rebuild of Raleigh Hills being funded?

The rebuild is being funded through the 2014 and 2022 Bond. The new building will be home to pre-K through 5th grade classes. Once rebuilt, it will offer a more spacious, functional and modern educational environment.

What are the next steps?

The District is working with the City of Beaverton on applications addressing site and building design, building height and tree removal and planting. The application process runs from about November 2022 to March 2023. Beaverton’s Planning Commission will review the applications and then hold a public hearing, giving the community an opportunity to weigh in.
