As you know, we’re currently working through a strategic planning process to chart the next five years in the Beaverton School District. We want to thank the thousands of people who have spent time contributing their thoughts through surveys, focus groups, community meetings and committees.

One of those committees composed of students, parents/guardians, staff and community members has developed possible promise statements for the district. A promise statement is a simple statement or collection of words that describes what BSD promises to its students, families and staff. The promise statement may be used in our logo, on our website and other public-facing materials.

We’d like your help in choosing the best promise statement for our community. To help inform your choice, here's a preview of the new Vision of Excellence:

In Beaverton School District, we envision every student saying:

• I belong, and I matter.

• I believe in myself, and my community believes in me.

• I am an informed and engaged member of my community.

• I am challenged, supported and successful in my learning.

• I feel connected to my learning, to my peers and to the adults in my school.

• I see a future that I want, and I know how to achieve it.
