In Beaverton School District, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, supported and empowered. Rooted in our district’s strategic plan, this yearlong initiative, Believe You Matter, is designed to support student mental health and well-being across all schools. Through open conversation and community engagement, we're building a culture where students and families feel connected, informed and equipped to navigate life’s challenges. This initiative is not just about raising awareness; it's about taking action, promoting healing and offering hope.

This winter, we're focusing on Social Media and Digital Wellness.

Social media can be a great tool for young people—it helps them connect with friends, explore new ideas and build social skills. But it also comes with risks, and how kids use it—and what they see—really matters.

Research shows that the way children engage with social media can impact their development in big ways. Positive interactions can support growth, while harmful content or unhealthy habits can do the opposite.

As a parent or caregiver, you know your child best. You understand their strengths and where they might need a little extra support. Still, navigating social media safety can feel overwhelming—and you're not alone in that.

We’re here to help.
